did you know?

Did you know that:
  1. If you run through a patch of skunk air with wet pants on, you won't be able to wash the skunk smell out. Even after putting it through the wash twice.
  2. I've spent an hour watching a co-worker play games online for the past few days.. and the boss knows this.

Geebus. I'm bored.

time for: "working" some more.

caught in the rain.

I thought it'd be good to go jogging this morning since I was getting a little tired of my pilates routine. And so I jogged.

And so it began to rain. I thought it would just be a slight drizzle so I didn't hop into my mom's car as she just happened to drive by me on her way home.

The rain drops became larger and larger.. and then faster and faster. And I officially became caught in the rain.

It's fun to walk around in the rain without having to worried about getting wet. Far cry from my usual rain tactics (ie. huddling away from the rain or angling the umbrella just so.), I just had a nice walk and jumped into a couple of puddles for good measure.

Then my mini stopped playing music cuz it got wet. And I thought, "Screw the rain! RUN!"

time for: shower. cuz rain water on your head makes you lose hair? (according to my mom.)

must.. work... out..

Note to self: go do some sort of exercise today.

Been feeling quite tubby for the past few days cuz of all the food consumed on the weeked. Yes, I know, no one put a gun to my head saying I had to eat all the yummy food in front of me, but come on, it's yummy!! Did I mention that there was a chocolate fountain involved? 4-tiers of yummy runny dark chocolate goodness with baskets of fruit/cake/marshmallows just waiting to be dipped. How could I resist? My willpower cannot take that kinda thing.

Met up with Mags and Edwin yesterday for bbt. Haven't done that in a while. It was good getting together even though Mags and I felt a little second rated what with all the hints of someone having somewhere better to be. *snicker* I had a good eye-rolling workout. Thanks Edwin! hahah. And for the record, just cuz I'm speaking loudly, it doesn't mean I'm angry.

Work has been extraordinary slooooooow. There isn't much to do so I feel quite content just sitting here and take as long as I want. Hey, I'm just trying to help my boss by not making him think of things for me to do. My trick is to eat lunch really really late so that I only have like 2 hours left before work is OVER! Wheeee!!

Does anyone wanna have a movie nite this weekend? Preferably Friday or Saturday nite? Anyone? I'll bring the guacamole!

time for: a bit more work.

I had to buy a Clay Aiken ticket for my sister this morning. I feel dirty. :(

woohoo 4 day week!

The best type of long weekend is the type when we get the Monday off. Hooray for the 4 day week following a long weekend.

This past weekend was just a smorgasbord of food. Steak dinner, lobster buffet, Japanese buffet, hugmonous bbq. I think I've had enough meat for a month. No wait, one more steak dinner tonite...or maybe I'll just order the salad.

Met up with a bunch of people I have not seen in a while this weekend. It was fun! Who knew Troy (June '05) and Yonatan (May '06) would be the first ones to get married? And who knew Yonatan would be the type to be so lovey-dovey? Good god, was he lovey dovey. My first year roomate is getting married next July too. I guess we are approaching the age when our peers start getting married. This wave of weddings are taking place really really early in life, which is quite admirable, cuz it means they have most of their shit together to jump in and make the committment. Not to mention the financial independence and stability a marriage requires. Dude, I can't even get it together to move out on my own.

Is anyone good with hair? I wanna do something fun with mine and I don't know how. I was reading the stylist's magazines at the salon yesterday and they had instructions on how to do really nice hair. Unfortunately it was all in Japanese. So now I'm stuck with octopus/Mrs. Brady hair until I figure out what to do with it.

time for: some work, I suppose, it is 10:30 afterall.

zoom zoom.

The goal of today was to test drive the Mazda 3 Sport and do a little brochure shopping at other dealerships. We did good.

Me like the 3 Sport. Very smooth. I test drove a red one so now I know what they look like. I'm still not sure about the colour though. The red doesn't seem as nice as the Indigo Blue in person. The Indigo blue almost has this deep purple/violet tint in it. It's really nice. The red looks kinda odd. Reminds me of an Echo hatchback for some reason. Or maybe it's cuz the red one I test drove was a GS, so no spoiler and stuff. I don't know, it didn't look as nice as i thought it would. Mags said that I can get a navy car when I'm 40 and go with the red while I'm still young. But how about a deep purplish-blue? hmm?? HMM??

Also visited the Mitsubishi showroom, the VW showroom and Subaru showroom. The Lancer Ralliart was really, really, really nice. But it's so punky. Evie not punky. The "So-ba-lo" Imprezia was nice too, but I only saw the revved up ones, (ie. ones I cannot afford), I wonder if the normal sedan looks nice.

Anyhoo, looks like rafting is gonna be during Civic holiday weekend. It'll be 2 days of rafting. Either 8 or 9 people. I'll send out another email soon.

Hacken conert on Wednesday was fantastic! The old Hacken songs are just awesome! Much better than many of the new ones. Edward was a good sport and seemed to enjoy himself too. Although I'm sure that at some point of the evening, he was thinking something along the lines of "Holy shit! Eve's crazy!". We were grimacing a little when Alan Tam was doing this little hiphop routine though. Good god, 55 year old chinese men should not attempt hip hop. Wait, anyone over the age of 30 should stay away from hip hop. Thanks for going with me, hunny.

Dinner with Ab and Edwin on Thurs was just good ol' stupid fun. Ab wet himself at the end of dinner. Okay, so I helped him a little by accidentally pushing a full glass of water on him. I don't think we should go back to Spring Rolls anytime soon, they may spit in our food.

time for: din din, I hope. But hunny just started playing LOTR.. so maybe in an hour? haha.

bunch o' stuff.

  1. Started staff training for the institute today. That's institute of CA, not some sort of mental institution. Day was long and boring, the instructor is the prof I did not like very much at Ryerson. What were the chances?? He's the one who foams a little at the mouth and makes weird circles with pens while talking. Will be there for rest of the week. I think I prefer work.
  2. Rafting trip planning is coming along swimmingly. I've got 8 confirmations so far. Just gotta work out the logistics of when we are going. Trying to get 4 more to confirm as 12 would be the optimal number in so many ways. Thank you to everyone who replied my email. To those who didn't get an email, either go learn how to swim or lemme know that I missed you.
  3. Jogging has become a lot more tolerable. No more feeling like I'm going to throw up. Still gasping for air a little, but at least it's after longer intervals of jogging. Hoping for no shin splints tomorrow.
  4. Dad psyched me out. Told me there was a package waiting for me from the States at home. I thought, "Pink Mini!!!". But it was proactiv off ebay. Boo.
  5. Dinner with Ab, Andrew and Edwin on thurs. Can't wait. Me miss Abbie.
  6. Hacken concert on Wednesday. Totally can't wait. Haaaackeeeeeeeeeeeen!!!! Hacken aaaaaaaaah!!

time for: Shower, then wait for hunny to show up.

Inept at html.

I was going to post an entry yesterday with my results to the quizzes on Mags' xanga, but having inept html skills meant that I couldn't format it properly to look half decent. So forget it. But according to one of those quizzes, I act like a 25 year old. 25? Close enough, I'll take it.

Also, another quiz me that my English language skills do not "cut the mustard". Fine. Me no know enga-li-shi.

It's Friday. There's no work to be done and I've been sitting here doing the pre-reading for my Staff Training Program next. That's right. More reading/tests/pass/fail. A whole week when I'm gonna be stuck in a room with strangers learning about stuff that would undoubtedly be boring as hell. Yay.

Oh good god, this keyboard at work sucks!!!! The keys keep sticking.

On a completely different topic, do you haggle? Like at chinese malls and stuff? You know, ask for no tax or 20% off on top of no tax sorta thing? I can't tell if it's just me who's uncomfortable with it or is it our whole generation? Carol and my mother have no problems whatsoever with it. And they would leave the store if they don't get their way. But me? I'll buy it anyway. I wonder if sales can sense this weakness and therefore not offer me any discounts. Hmm.

time for: hunting around the office to see if there's a better keyboard somwhere.

what the beep??

La la, I'm just sitting here doing my work and I happen to look down... and my black pants are covered with pink fluff. Then I notice that the pink stuff is also all over my chair, my desk and drifting in the air around me. Hello, I'm Pigpen with a pink angora twist.

Good god, I love this sweater, from it's colour, to the keyhole in the back, to the pretty pink satin ribbon tie at the nape of my neck. Why does it have to shed to much? I've already washed it three times! Stop it with the shedding.

Don't tell me the sweater and I weren't meant to be. Say it ain't so.

time for: check my contacts for pink fluff.

rafting! come on!

Who's interested in white water rafting this June/July? Come on, you know you wannnnnna.

For all those who are iffy because they can't swim, I know non-swimmers who went and they liked it. There's gonna be a life jacket and a helmet, so it should be alright as long as you are comfortable with water. I wouldn't recommend the trip if you are insanely terrified of water though. Obviously this activity will have some level of excitement/danger, regardless how strong a swimmer you are, but isn't that part of the fun?

Anyhoo, the trip will be sometime in June or July. We have some options.

It's high water season 'til June 19th, which means it'll be less exciting since there's higher water. The water will also be more cold. And it'll be cheaper. (by like 30 bucks)

Ab. suggested Canada's Day weekend, which is a good idea too, since those who work can save some vacation days. Might be crazy traffic though.

I gotta get the trip booked and stuff a month before we go. So all nay-sayers (ahem, like ppl who think my plans have a tendency to fall through) can shove their opinions somewhere and decide whether they are in or out.

So if you are interested, let me know. I'll send out a more detailed email once I know who's interested. Oh, and this this where we'll be going.

time for: work.
