Heard about this deal with Fido that if you call and say you want to switch to telus, Fido will give you 50% off for the first year if you sign a two-year contract.
Sounds good to me! So I attempted this even though I don't like to talk to CS reps. Didn't turn out so good for me.
The guy basically said, "We can't match this, good luck with Telus, they suck."
Excellent. So I told him that I'll think about it and call back to cancel later. Yup, that's me, Eve the queen of ineffective bluffs. Sigh. I'll call and try this again. Perhaps I'll get a rep with less determination.
time for: wasted my lunch on Fido. Time to work again.

Well, the deal has been going on for a long time, so maybe the fido CSRs are sick of people trying to ask for those. Also, you should call Customer Retention directly... i think it might be 1-888-259-3436. They are better at keeping customers.
